Best in Class: 3.0L to 4.0L Category
Second Place: Best New Engine 2008
Third Place: Best Performance Engine
Fourth Place: International Engine Of the Year
BMW’S 3.0 Liter TWin Turbo 6 cylinder N54:
Best in Class: International Engine Of The Year
Best in Class: 2.5L to 3.0L Category
BMW’S 5.0 Liter V10 S85:
Best in Class: Above 4.0L Category
Third Place: Best Performance Engine
Fifth Place: International Engine Of the Year
The “International Engine of the Year Award” is a big deal as far as bragging rights go in this industry. Think of it like the Academy Awards for engines. However, instead of members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voting, you have 62 renowned motoring journalists, from 30 countries, casting ballots for their favorite fossil fuel burner.
